Damp air and soil feed rot and mold in wood framing. A heavy vapor barrier over the soil, and sometimes a dehumidifier, keeps the wood dry.
Full encapsulation seals the floor and walls of the crawl space with a vapor barrier, closes vents and controls humidity. It's the most complete moisture fix, and the most expensive.
